Job summary

Secretariat Advisors LLC is seeking an Associate Director in Engineering Sciences - Mechanical to lead advanced failure analysis projects for diverse clients across automotive, aerospace, consumer products and medical devices. You will guide analytical teams and coordinate across time zones to deliver trusted solutions.

The role requires a PhD or MS with several years of experience, plus strong report writing, communication, and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• MS in Mechanical/Aerospace Eng with 3+ years of work experience.
• Pursuing PE credentials is a plus.
• Excellent report writing skills to complement analytics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent listening, verbal, written, technical, and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with FEA/CFD/MBD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on failure analysis investigations.
• Perform laboratory tests.
• Assist with field inspections.
• Assist with client communications across time zones.
• Draft report sections and perform technical analyses.
• Develop rebuttal points from analyses.
• Manage workload to meet milestones and budgets.
• Recruit talented staff to grow Secretariat’s Mechanical Engineering practice.
• Provide project management and budget oversight.
• Build relationships with colleagues, peers and clients.
