Job summary

Lilly is seeking an Associate Director for Technical Services/Manufacturing Science to lead a biopharma manufacturing support organization during startup and ongoing operations. You will oversee biological and bioconjugate processes, drive technical excellence, and guide a diverse team with coaching and performance management.

Requirements include advanced degrees in a related science, 5+ years in biopharma with GMP experience, and at least 3 years in leadership.

Qualifications

• BS, MS or PhD in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related discipline; 5+ years in biopharma.
• Minimum 3+ years in a people leadership role.
• Experience in GMP manufacturing operations and supporting regulatory inspections and audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead a technical organization to oversee biological and bioconjugate manufacturing processes in collaboration with engineering, IT, operations and quality.
• Build a diverse TS/MS organization with capability, capacity and culture to operate the facility to high standards.
• Lead, develop and retain a high-performing team with a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Provide coaching, mentorship and performance management to direct reports.
• Determine TS/MS staffing and resource needs to support startup and qualifications.
• Support robust control strategies to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence through lean principles in a digitally native plant.
• Review and approve documentation including procedures, deviations, reports, change controls and validation summaries.
• Support the project team to deliver the facility on schedule.
