Job summary

The American Library Association seeks an experienced frontline fundraiser to join its development team as Associate Director for Individual Giving in a national nonprofit setting. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; 3–5 years of fundraising experience.
• Proven success in cultivating and soliciting individual donors.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience building relationships with donors, volunteers, or other external stakeholders.
• Proficiency with business applications including Microsoft Office and donor databases.

Responsibilities

• Manage a donor portfolio, qualify prospects, cultivate relationships, solicit gifts, and close gifts in mid-level to major ranges.
• Conduct in-person and virtual meetings; document meetings, next steps, and outcomes.
• Reengage lapsed donors and identify renewal opportunities.
• Support donor events and campaign activities; collaborate with volunteers and staff.
• Maintain donor records in Salesforce and monitor progress toward fundraising goals.
