Celltrion Branchburg, LLC in Branchburg, NJ, is seeking an Associate Director of Indirect Procurement to lead sourcing, negotiation, and contract management for energy, logistics, facilities and other indirect spend. You will manage a small team (2–3) and collaborate with Finance, Legal, Quality, Engineering, Operations, and HQ Procurement in Korea.

You will develop category strategies, oversee MSAs/SOWs, ensure compliance, improve total cost of ownership, and drive supplier performance.

Position Brand Description:

The Associate Director, Indirect Procurement is responsible for leading all indirect procurement activities for the Branchburg site. This role oversees sourcing, negotiation, purchasing, contract management, supplier relationship management, and ongoing procurement support for indirect materials and services, including but not limited to energy, logistics, facilities and site services, professional service providers, consultants, maintenance-related services, and other site support categories. The position is responsible for managing contracts such as Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, addenda, amendments, and related procurement documentation to ensure commercial value, compliance with company requirements, and alignment with business needs. This individual will lead a small team of approximately 2-3 procurement professionals and will collaborate closely with site stakeholders, Finance, Legal, Quality, Engineering, Operations, and HQ Procurement in Korea to support effective procurement execution, supplier performance, and strategic sourcing initiatives.

Manage for Results /Strategic Planning:

Develop and execute indirect procurement strategies that support site operations, cost management, supply continuity, contract compliance, and supplier performance. Lead sourcing events, bid evaluations, supplier selection, negotiation, and purchasing activities for indirect categories across the site. Establish category plans and procurement priorities for key spend areas such as energy, logistics, site services, professional services, consultants, and other indirect materials and services. Identify opportunities to improve total cost of ownership, service quality, contract coverage, risk mitigation, and process efficiency. Maintain strong governance around procurement transactions, contract lifecycle management, and compliance with company policies and applicable procedures.

Manage Relationships with Key Stakeholders and Customers:

Partner with internal stakeholders across Operations, Engineering, Facilities, Quality, Finance, Legal, EHS, IT, and other functions to understand business requirements, define scopes of work, support supplier selection, resolve procurement issues, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services. Build and maintain effective supplier relationships through regular business reviews, performance management, issue escalation, and continuous improvement activities. Coordinate with HQ Procurement in Korea to align procurement strategies, supplier decisions, contract terms, reporting requirements, and sourcing initiatives across entities. Provide guidance to stakeholders on procurement processes, contract requirements, purchasing timelines, and supplier engagement expectations.

Staff Development and Management:

Lead, coach, and develop a small indirect procurement team of approximately 2-3 employees. Set clear priorities, assign workload, monitor performance, and support professional development for team members responsible for sourcing, purchasing, supplier coordination, and procurement operations. Promote a service-oriented, compliant, and results-driven procurement culture while ensuring appropriate training, knowledge sharing, and adherence to procurement procedures.

Resource Management:

Manage procurement resources, tools, records, and processes to support accurate purchasing, contract tracking, supplier documentation, and audit readiness. Oversee purchase requisitions, purchase orders, supplier onboarding support, contract files, sourcing records, pricing documentation, and procurement metrics. Use ERP systems, procurement trackers, spend analyses, and reporting tools to monitor supplier performance, contract coverage, savings opportunities, purchase order activity, and stakeholder service levels. Support data integrity, document retention, and compliance with internal controls and company policies.

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Finance, Engineering, or a related field and 10-15 years of progressive indirect materials and services procurement experience. Demonstrated experience leading sourcing, supplier management, negotiation, purchasing, and contract management activities for indirect categories in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or similarly regulated environment. Experience managing Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, addenda, amendments, commercial terms, supplier performance expectations, and procurement documentation. Prior people management or team leadership experience required, including direct supervision or functional leadership of procurement professionals. Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Additional Preferences:

Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is strongly preferred. Experience in biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or other GMP-regulated environments is a plus. Familiarity with indirect procurement categories such as energy, logistics, facilities services, maintenance services, professional services, consulting, IT-related services, and site support services is preferred. Professional certification such as CPSM, CSCP, CPM, or equivalent supply chain/procurement certification is beneficial. Experience working with global or regional procurement organizations, including coordination with overseas headquarters or parent-company procurement teams, is preferred. Advanced Excel, spend analysis, supplier performance reporting, and contract lifecycle management experience are also preferred.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Finance, Engineering, or related field required. Advanced degree such as MBA or Master’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline preferred.

Other Information:

This position supports site-wide indirect procurement operations and requires frequent interaction with internal business partners, HQ Procurement in Korea, suppliers, service providers, consultants, and contract stakeholders. The role is expected to balance day-to-day purchasing support with strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, negotiation, contract oversight, compliance, and team leadership responsibilities. Limited travel may be required based on business needs.

This role is exempt and the anticipated compensation for this role is $139,500 - $232,500.

This is a banded role, and candidates will be placed within the range based on experience, skills, internal equity, and market considerations.
