Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is recruiting an Associate Director to lead a new Implementation Science Initiative within the Hollings Cancer Center, driving translation of cancer prevention and control research into real-world practice in South Carolina and beyond.

The successful candidate will apply implementation science methods, mentor early-career investigators, and strengthen collaborations with clinicians, researchers, and health systems, with strong NIH/NCI funding

Qualifications

• PhD, MD, DO, DrPH, ScD or equivalent degree with training in implementation science, medicine, epidemiology, public health, informatics and data science
• Extensive cancer-relevant and implementation science research experience
• Extensive peer-reviewed publication experience, commensurate with career stage

Responsibilities

• Lead the Implementation Science Initiative within the Hollings Cancer Center and support HCC’s mission to translate research into practice
• Serve as Associate Director to optimize prevention and control innovations and sustain evidence-based practices
• Develop external funding, preferably from NIH/NCI, with strong potential for success
• Mentor early-stage investigators and contribute to academic leadership and collaborations across clinical, research, and community partners
