Scorpion Therapeutics in Parsippany, NJ or Foster City, CA seeks an Associate Director, Generative AI (Individual Contributor) to own the feature roadmap, drive pilots, and scale GenAI solutions across commercial functions.

You will lead AI governance, assist with procurement, manage platform choices with IT, and coordinate cross-functional use cases with EDSC, liaise with US and international affiliates to shape AI strategy and rollout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 10+ years of DS/AI experience, or Master’s/PhD with 8+/2+ years.
• Proven success deploying GenAI from pilot to production in commercial settings.
• Ability to drive cross-functional AI roadmaps and governance.

Responsibilities

Associate Director, Generative AI (Individual Contributor)

Location: Parsippany, NJ or Foster City, CA

Reports to: Senior Director, Data Science – AI & Optimization

Role / Responsibilities:

• Own the feature roadmap; drive POCs/pilots and align with IT to build, deploy, and scale GenAI solutions across commercial functions.
• Assist with AI procurement (buy) and lead technical feasibility discussions.
• Support responsible AI governance and AI/tech integration; pressure test explainability, sustainability, and model-evolution roadmaps.
• Manage with IT platform choice and design for internally built solutions.
• Plan/develop cross-functional use cases with EDSC; serve as point of contact for AI policy/governance.
• Liaise with affiliates (US and ex-US) to shape AI use cases and pressure test build vs. buy.
• Support AI rollouts (GDI/US) and ensure sustainability; bring DS/AI best practices; lead AI literacy content with EDSC.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s + 10 years OR Master’s + 8 years OR PhD + 2 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 10+ years (BS) / 8+ (MS) / 6+ (PhD) in relevant DS/analytics/CS/development.
• Proven success deploying and scaling GenAI from pilot to production in commercial settings.

Technical Skills:

• GenAI product development (e.g., LLMs, GANs); cloud (AWS/Databricks); Docker/Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of AI regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, FDA, EU AI Act).

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary range: $195,670.00–$253,220.00;
• may include discretionary bonus, long-term incentives, paid time off, and company-sponsored medical/dental/vision/life insurance.
