Under the supervision of the Assistant Dean and Director of Housingand Residence Life, the Associate Director for Housing Operationsprovides leadership for the operation, maintenance, custodialservices, and facility stewardship of the University's residentialcommunities. The position oversees daily facility operations,supervises housing facilities personnel, manages vendor andcontractor relationships, coordinates maintenance efforts,administers operational budgets, and collaborates with campuspartners to provide safe, functional, attractive, andwell-maintained living environments that support student success.The Associate Director exercises independent judgment in the dailymanagement of housing operations while advancing departmental andinstitutional priorities through collaborative leadership, sounddecision-making, and exceptional customer service.
Daily contact with members of the Residence Life team, immediatesupervisor, students, and student staff to plan, coordinate,problem solve, and present information related to mutualgoals.
Develops collaborative relationships with Housing and ResidenceLife staff, Facilities Services, University Police, Student Life,Procurement, Finance, Environmental Health and Safety, InformationTechnology, Summer Programs, contractors, vendors, architects,consultants, students, parents, faculty, and staff.
Builds relationships grounded in collaboration, trust,accountability, professionalism, and mutual respect.
Exercises independent judgment regarding the daily operation ofresidential facilities within established universitypolicies.
Assistant Dean and Director of Housing andResidence Life
Work is performed independently on routine work; non-routine issuesor questions are referred to the supervisor.
Bachelor's degree required.
Three to seven years of progressively responsible facilities orhousing experience with supervisory experience preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, budgeting, project management,customer service, and decision-making skills.
Work is performed in office and residential facilityenvironments.
Some evening/weekend work and participation in an on-call rotationrequired.
