The Associate Director, Field Tools & Analytics owns the overall strategy, technology roadmap, and solution architecture for Oncology field tools that enable the sales organization to operate effectively across solid and liquid tumor brands. This role sets the long-range vision for field tools, determines platform and technology investments, and ensures tools scale with evolving brand and franchise needs. The Associate Director leads a team of two direct reports (Senior Manager and Manager, Field Tools & Analytics) who execute day-to-day operations against this strategy.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Technology Roadmap

  • Own and author the long-range strategic plan and multi-year technology roadmap for all Oncology field tools.
  • Set priorities for platform investment, retirement, and consolidation decisions based on franchise needs and ROI.
  • Anticipate future field force needs and proactively evolve the toolset ahead of business demand.

Solution Architecture & System Design

  • Architect end-to-end field tool solutions, defining system design, data flows, and integration points across CRM, analytics, and reporting platforms.
  • Set technical and business requirement standards; final approver on major system design decisions.
  • Partner with IT, BTS, and OEC to ensure architecture aligns with enterprise technology standards and compliance requirements.

Governance & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as the executive-level point of contact and escalation path across Sales Leadership, Commercial Operations, IT, Training, OEC, Legal, and Medical/Regulatory.
  • Provide final sign-off on business requirements, enhancement prioritization, and project scope for major initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional governance forums to align technology decisions with brand and franchise strategy.

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Ensure the team is resourced appropriately for current and future demand; delegate operational execution to direct reports.
  • Coach, mentor, and set clear goals/expectations; conduct performance management and career development.

Executive Stakeholder Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with VPs, Sales Directors, and Analytics leadership.
  • Act as a credible, strategic advisor capable of influencing senior executives on technology direction and investment decisions without direct authority.
  • BA/BS degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of pharmaceutical or relevant industry experience, including experience setting technology strategy or architecting commercial solutions.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience managing managers or senior individual contributors.
  • Strong executive presence; able to confidently advise Executive and Sales Leadership on strategic technology decisions.
