Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate, people-centered Volunteer Associate Director, Engagement to co-lead our global volunteer engagement strategy. This role will work closely with the Director of Volunteer Engagement and collaborate across departments to build a cohesive, inclusive, and rewarding volunteer experience. You will support the design and execution of strategies that build meaningful relationships, encourage participation, and enhance long-term volunteer retention and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Volunteer Engagement Strategy & Execution

• Assist in designing and implementing volunteer engagement strategies aligned with organizational values and goals
• Lead initiatives that foster a strong sense of community, recognition, and inclusion across all volunteer cohorts
• Support development of a year-round engagement calendar (e.g., events, recognition weeks, newsletters, town halls)

2. Relationship Management & Community Building

• Build and maintain trusting relationships with volunteers across functions and regions
• Serve as a point of contact for engagement-related concerns, feedback, and suggestions
• Conduct check-ins, surveys, and listening sessions to continuously improve the volunteer experience
• Support onboarding, orientation, and re-engagement processes for volunteers
• Collaborate with the recruitment and People & Culture team to ensure seamless transitions through the volunteer lifecycle
• Help implement exit feedback processes to inform future improvements

4. Recognition & Communication

• Lead campaigns and personalized recognition efforts
• Lead monthly volunteer communications, success stories, and engagement updates
• Collaborate with the communications team to spotlight volunteers on internal and external channels

5. Data, Monitoring & Reporting

• Prepare periodic engagement reports with insights and recommendations
• Assist in developing tools, templates, and frameworks to measure impact and engagement
• Represent the Engagement team in cross-functional strategy meetings and org-wide initiatives
• Actively contribute to Yuvoice’s culture, equity, and collaboration goals

Key Qualifications

• Prior experience in community engagement, volunteer coordination, People & Culture, nonprofit leadership, or people management
• Strong interpersonal skills and an inclusive, relationship-building approach
• Strategic thinking with a hands-on attitude and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working independently and in remote, multicultural environments
• Proficiency with collaboration tools like Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Airtable, etc.
