Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead end-to-end drug development programs in a fast-paced pharma/biotech setting. You will drive cross-functional teams, develop integrated plans, and ensure successful execution across regulatory, clinical, and manufacturing disciplines.

The role requires strong PM fundamentals, PMP certification, and extensive knowledge of clinical development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; scientific/applicable discipline preferred.
  • 5+ years in project management or related role.
  • Product development experience, ideally in pharma/biotech.
  • Experience/knowledge of clinical drug development across phases.
  • PMP certification or formal PM coursework preferred.
  • Strong foundation in project management fundamentals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end drug development projects of significant complexity.
  • Influence cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategies.
  • Create and manage integrated project plans and schedules.
  • Coordinate input from clinical, regulatory, market access, manufacturing, CMC, and commercial.
  • Engage with GPAM stakeholders and Project/Alliance Managers across regions (e.g., Japan, China).
  • Maintain project data in enterprise systems and databases.
  • Identify risks, address uncertainties, and escalate as needed.
  • Foster team dynamics, remove obstacles, and drive results.
  • Ensure adherence to governance and business requirements.
  • Lead meetings, set agendas, track progress, and ensure accountability.
  • Participate in GPAM initiatives and process improvements.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end drug development process, including projects of significant complexity
  • Drive cross-functional teams and lead by influence to develop comprehensive strategies and ensure successful execution
  • Guide teams through creation, approval, and execution of integrated project plans
  • Integrate strategic and tactical input from clinical, regulatory, market access, manufacturing, CMC, commercial, and other disciplines
  • Drive alignment with stakeholders and partnerships with Project and Alliance Managers across GPAM, including colleagues in Japan and China
  • Build and maintain project schedules and critical project information in enterprise project management systems and databases
  • Integrate activities across key team members, proactively identify risks, address uncertainty, escalated appropriately, assess program status, and communicate with stakeholders
  • Improve team dynamics, identify and remove obstacles, and drive business results
  • Enable teams to understand corporate governance and business requirements
  • Lead key team meetings, create agendas, ensure participation, provide project management insights, and follow up on progress and accountability
  • Complete ongoing training and personal development activities
  • Participate in GPAM departmental initiatives and workstreams
  • Improve business processes and identify efficiencies
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and oversight to partner project managers
  • Share lessons learned and best practices across the GPAM community
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in a scientific or applied discipline preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in project management or a related role required
  • Product development experience strongly preferred, ideally in pharmaceutical/biotech industry
  • Experience and knowledge of clinical drug development strongly preferred, including the different phases of development and how various functional areas contribute to a comprehensive strategy
  • Project management certification (PMP) and/or formal coursework/training in project management strongly preferred
  • Strong project management foundation
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams by influence with minimal guidance
  • Knowledge of clinical, regulatory, market access, manufacturing, CMC, commercial, and other functional areas as applicable
  • Experience using enterprise project management systems and databases
  • Knowledge of corporate governance and business requirements
  • Skills in business decisions, change management, clinical research, collaboration, cross-functional leadership, drug development, enterprise project management, process optimization, progress monitoring, project implementations, project management governance, project planning, regulatory compliance, risk management, strategic planning, strategic thinking, and team organization
  • Candidates must be residents of the US or Puerto Rico
