Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's Jackson School of Geosciences is seeking an Associate Director of Development and Alumni Relations to lead fundraising and alumni engagement. You will manage a nationwide donor portfolio, cultivate gifts from $25,000+ and collaborate with faculty to advance campaign priorities.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, proven full-cycle donor strategy, and frequent travel; you will report to the Jackson School's development leadership and interact with university

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• Experience executing full-cycle donor strategy.
• At least one year in higher education philanthropy or related fields.
• Strong emotional intelligence and tenacity.
• Ability to travel frequently.

Responsibilities

• Build and carry an active portfolio of 80-100 prospective donors across the US.
• Engage in qualification, strategy, development, relationship building, and closing of annual and major gifts at $25,000+ for the Jackson School.
• After a full year in the role, consistently produce $2,500,000+ per year in contributed income.
• Deliver 12-20 funding proposals to prospective and current donors.
• Collaborate with faculty and academic leaders to develop campus-wide funding opportunities to reach campaign goals.
• Regularly travel to meet with donors for qualification, solicitation and stewardship.
• Maintain electronic documentation on engagement activities, proposal tracking, reports, donor strategies and forecasting.
• Record timely reports, letters, proposals, or gift agreements following a donor contact.
• Understand university priorities, vision and mission.
• Participate in goal setting, proposal preparation, strategy development, and stewardship.
