Job summary

Voices Against Violence, operating within CVOEO, seeks a Program Advocate to provide direct support and advocacy to survivors within the shelter program and coordinate services with other systems alongside the advocacy team.

The role also acts as backup for primary services such as hotline support, outreach, legal advocacy, family support, and general advocacy. Salary ranges hourly and reflects our commitment to empowering survivors and community education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Human Service field (Social Work, Counseling…) or equivalent education/experience.
• Must relate well to a wide variety of people in a non-judgmental, positive and competent manner.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and reliable transportation; willingness to travel within the CVOEO service area.
• Ability to uphold safety standards.

Salary $26.96 - $28.61 per hour

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in a Human Service field, (Social Work, Counseling…) or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired.
• A highly motivated and responsible individual with the ability to relate to a wide variety of people in a non-judgmental, positive and competent manner.
• Treat others with dignity and respect regardless of differences based on race ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, religion, culture, class or age.
• Willingness and ability to work independently during overnight or weekend shifts.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and access to reliable transportation and willingness and ability to travel within the CVOEO service area.
• Ability to uphold safety standards.
