Job summary

Lincoln Financial invites an experienced CRE debt professional to join our Loan Production Team as Associate Director, CRE Debt Investments. In this role you will help originate about $2 billion annually and contribute to the ongoing management of a $17 billion portfolio across the United States.

Qualifications

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) - Minimum Required
  • 3-5+ Years’ experience required in commercial real estate finance and/or commercial real estate investment and analysis that aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.
  • Experience analyzing asset lending transactions.
  • Knowledge of commercial real estate principles and valuation methods.
  • Knowledge of national commercial real estate and mortgage markets and macro-economic trends that affect those markets.
  • Ability to understand and evaluate real estate financial statements.
  • Knowledge of real estate legal concepts and understanding of loan documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Costar and Argus preferred.
  • Advanced degrees and/or certifications strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support Managing Directors in business development through correspondent relationships and new transactions for assigned territory; actively manage and develop relationships with correspondent mortgage bankers. Manage transactions from origination through closing.
  • Underwrite new commercial real estate loan investment opportunities providing analysis and recommendations to the Managing Directors.
  • Draft term sheets, application/commitment letters, and other transaction related documents for review by senior team members.
  • Complete due diligence analysis including review of leases, rent rolls, third party reports, estoppels, and other business-related matters.
  • Work with senior team members and legal counsel in the negotiation of loan terms and documentation.
  • Prepare investment committee memos working collaboratively with senior team members, while leading the due diligence process for loans in the application stage.
  • Serve as business liaison throughout the loan closing process working with appropriate internal/external stakeholders to effectuate a timely closing.
  • Act as a resource in the training and mentoring of junior team members.
  • Travel for due diligence and business development trips.
  • Perform quarterly reviews, including operating statements and leasing updates, for existing loans.
  • Additional investment support may include real estate equity and credit fund investments.
  • Handle special servicing requests as requested.

The Role at a Glance

In this position, within the Loan Production Team, you will provide experienced support in the annual origination of $2 billion of commercial mortgage investments throughout the United States.
