Job summary

Moderna is seeking a strategic FP&A professional to lead enterprise budgeting, forecasting, and performance management. You will partner with senior leadership to deliver insights that drive resource allocation and long-term value creation, presenting complex data as clear, executive-ready analyses.

This role offers executive exposure across Commercial, R&D, CMC, and G&A, with a focus on scalable FP&A processes and transformational impact within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive FP&A or corporate finance experience.
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical capabilities.
  • Proven experience partnering with senior leaders and influencing decisions.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; experience with financial planning systems.
  • Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Lead consolidated budgeting processes.
  • Analyze actual results versus plan and communicate key drivers, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop management reporting, dashboards, and executive-level presentations.
  • Support month-end close activities in partnership with accounting, including spend and accrual reviews.
  • Own companywide labor and benefits forecasting, ensuring alignment between forecasts and actuals.
  • Support strategic initiatives through scenario modeling and investment decision analysis.
  • Enhance FP&A processes, tools, and financial models to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across systems and planning assumptions.

The Role

In this highly visible and strategic role, you will support enterprise-wide financial planning, forecasting, and performance management while helping shape key business decisions across Moderna. Reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate FP&A, you will partner closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver insights that inform decision-making, resource allocation, and long-term value creation.

The position sits within Corporate Finance and plays a central role in consolidating, analyzing, and communicating financial results across the organization. As a trusted finance partner, you will transform complex financial data into actionable insights and executive-level presentations that support strategic decision-making. Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
  • MBA, CPA, or CFA
  • Prior experience in commercial biopharma or life sciences
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise FP&A tools (e.g., Hyperion EPM, Anaplan)
  • Exposure to long-range planning, portfolio prioritization, or capital allocation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and mentor junior team members
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization

The salary range for this role is $142,500.00 - $256,500.00. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An individual’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, and business or organizational needs. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, other incentive compensation, or equity award, subject to company plan eligibility criteria and individual performance.
