Job summary

Moderna seeks an Associate Director, Oncology to advance its oncology portfolio and drive launch readiness, commercial operations, and field execution. You will collaborate across Marketing, Sales, Medical, Market Access, and external partners to build scalable processes and governance that enable rapid, data‑driven decision making.

In this role, you will lead development of operating models, dashboards, and incentive frameworks, while shaping cross‑functional alignment and strategic initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 6+ years of experience in biopharma commercial operations, commercial excellence, marketing operations, consulting, or related functions.
• Experience in oncology commercialization and/or launch execution preferred.
• Data‑driven, execution‑focused, and comfortable making trade‑offs in key decisions.
• Proven ability to partner cross‑functionally and influence stakeholders across Commercial, Medical, Market Access, Finance, and other key stakeholders.
• Analytics capabilities including how to effectively measure launch success.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive adoption of CRM and field tools to enhance productivity and customer engagement.
• Data, Analytics & Insights: Partner with analytics teams to deliver insights supporting decision‑making and real‑time monitoring.
• Alliance & Cross‑Functional Integration: Coordinate cross‑functional activities between internal teams and external partners.

The Role

Moderna continues to expand its innovative mRNA platform, unlocking new applications across diseases and therapeutic areas. As the company advances its oncology pipeline, including a personalized mRNA therapy intismeran autogene in collaboration with Merck, this role will play a critical part in launching Moderna’s first commercial therapeutic into the oncology market. Moderna is seeking an Associate Director, Oncology for its growing oncology portfolio. This role plays a key role in developing and scaling commercial capabilities, operational processes, and launch readiness activities to support successful oncology product launches and sustained growth This role sits at the intersection of commercial strategy, field execution, and operational excellence, ensuring that the organization is equipped with best-in-class tools, processes, and capabilities to compete in a complex and rapidly evolving market. The individual will play a central role in launch readiness, sales force effectiveness, and alliance integration, partnering cross‑functionally across Marketing, Sales, Medical, Market Access, and external collaborators.

Here’s What You’ll Do

• Support co‑promotion / alliance models, ensuring seamless integration of capabilities, processes, and governance
• Coordinate cross‑functional activities between internal teams and external partners

• Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and speed to execution

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
• 6+ years of experience in biopharma commercial operations, commercial excellence, marketing operations, consulting, or related functions
• Experience in oncology commercialization and/or launch execution preferred
• Demonstrated success in sales force effectiveness, marketing operations, or commercial excellence roles
• Data‑driven, execution‑focused, and comfortable making trade‑offs in key decisions
• Strategic thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex data and insights into clear, actionable recommendations for field teams and senior stakeholders
• Proven ability to partner cross‑functionally and influence stakeholders across Commercial, Medical, Market Access, Finance, and other key stakeholders
• Analytics capabilities including how to effectively measure launch success
• Strong communication and presentation skills

The salary range for this role is $142,500.00 - $256,500.00. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An individual’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, and business or organizational needs. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, other incentive compensation, or equity award, subject to company plan eligibility criteria and individual performance.
