The Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director, Contracts within the Short and Medium Range Ground Based Air Defense (SMGBAD) area. This role demands a multi-faceted, strategic Contracts Leader to deal with complex situations and creative solutions to support two start-up missile captures inclusive of international work and Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs). The candidate’s attributes should include leadership and strong experience with terms and conditions risk assessment and negotiations, understanding the implications of international work, strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, subject matter expertise in general contracting, and be able to provide contractual and business guidance to the Capture Management Leadership Teams.

What You Will Do

  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers to establish mutually beneficial relationships and influence business decisions
  • Investigate and resolve complex contractual matters by applying astute critical thinking, gathering detailed information, seeking innovative contracting techniques, and proactively collaborating with relevant stakeholders
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance on numerous contractual rights/obligations, regulations, and policy/procedure to mitigate risks and unauthorized changes
  • Develop pre-negotiation objectives and implement negotiation strategy reviews as part of the proposal development process
  • Represent Raytheon independently on significant transactions while developing and maintaining trusting relationships with complex customer
  • Minimal domestic travel to customer and Raytheon sites

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
  • Experience in Contracts administration and/or the development of proposals, such as researching, fact-finding and negotiations

Remote: This position currently is designated as remote. Employees who are working in remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home) but may be expected to travel to the site location as needed. The successful candidate for this role will be required to reside and work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. territories).

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
