Job summary

Merck seeks an Associate Director, Community Impact, to drive coordination of the Community Impact Liaison program, align initiatives with health goals, and ensure compliance across internal stakeholders.

The role leads through influence, manages grant review processes, tracks milestones, and partners with communications to highlight program impact, reporting to Head of Global Community Impact and Engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, health policy, business, life sciences or related field.
  • 7+ years in program operations, management, public health, community health, social impact, philanthropy, or related field.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders without direct reporting lines.
  • Experience managing multi-workstream projects, timelines, dependencies, and approvals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of initiatives identified by Head of Global Community Impact and Engagement.
  • Coordinate day-to-day program operations, tracking milestones and follow-ups.
  • Support grant review processes, approvals, contracting, and reporting.
  • Track budget status, risks, and decisions for leadership visibility.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and avoid duplication of effort.
  • Develop updates and materials based on program activity and community insights.
