Job summary

UC Irvine is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead and coordinate all payroll activities across the campus and affiliated entities. The role focuses on accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance within a large academic environment.

Your Role on the Team

Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Reviews and approves recommendations for functional programs. Provides guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals results in additional costs and personnel, and delays in schedules.

What It Takes to be Successful

• Thorough knowledge of all payroll functions.
• Strong skills using Campus financial systems, common desktop / web applications, and payroll reporting software.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, complex accounting information in a clear and concise manner.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across the organization.
• Thorough knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
• 10 years or more experience in Payroll Manager or Supervisory Role.
