That's why we're seeking an Associate Director, Clinician Network to lead the strategic growth and operations of Cogstate's global clinician network.

Responsibilities include progressing the vision for the clinician network, expanding the infrastructure and refining tech-enabled processes and systems with an emphasis on scalability and data quality, fostering highly collaborative and responsive relationships among various internal and external stakeholders, and attracting and developing consultants and staff to support expansion into new therapeutic areas and geographies.

Cogstate's global network of clinicians play a significant role in supporting global industry sponsored clinical trials. The primary role of the Clinician Network service is to recruit, train, and oversee highly experienced psychologists/neuropsychologists (clinician consultants) so they can perform essential data quality assurance services such as rater training, monitoring, and central rating activities for pharmaceutical industry clinical trials. Clinician activities include live training sessions with raters, administration of remote cognitive assessments to clinical trial participants, and supporting performance monitoring of assessments administered by raters. The Associate Director, Clinician Network would oversee the functional team and global clinician network of consultants.

Key activities will include strategic planning, service area growth and process development, input into innovation roadmap, implementation of processes and systems, people leadership, problem solving, and data-driven decision making to ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency. This individual will collaborate closely with Clinical Trials leadership and shared services teams including finance, people and culture, business development, marketing and IT.

Reporting to the Vice President (AVP) of Clinical Operations and Rater Services, the Associate Director will drive the strategic growth of the clinician network, enhance service delivery in CNS therapeutic areas, and optimize collaboration across internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include operations management, innovation, strategic planning, and data-driven decision-making to ensure scalability, efficiency, and superior data quality in clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with other functional areas in Clinical Trials to generate clear and efficient study delivery processes and SLAs for clinician network services.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure quality training, recalibration, data analysis, and remediation programs are implemented.
  • Act as escalation point of contact for Clinician Network staff, consultants, and service offerings.
  • Oversee staff responsible for supporting services including clinician recruitment, onboarding, calibration, and remediation programs.
  • Manages service budget, including regional rates, and implementation
  • Oversee SOP maintenance/development and related process documents, ensuring department is compliant and audit ready.
  • Improve processes across the service area and oversee the implementation of systems, best practices and metrics to ensure timely, quality, compliant, and cost-effective services.
  • Implement new services, technology systems, and platforms to enable faster and more accurate tracking and reporting of functional activities for both internal staff and external stakeholders, focusing on providing a high-quality user experience.
  • Develop infrastructure to support an expanding clinician network that accommodates various regions, time zones, languages, and therapeutic areas
  • Build a flexible, operational workforce model that enables service scalability in the EU and APAC regions, i.e., recruitment, language support, time-zone support, cultural SMEs.
  • Management of departmental staff, including hiring, training, and development.
  • Demonstrate high performance in leading and mentoring team members, growing and developing staff.
  • Facilitates team building and communication within and across functions/departments.
  • Forecast global hiring needs, by monitoring study pipeline, and conducting skill gap assessments
  • Demonstrates the appropriate management and fostering of relationships with the global clinician network.
  • Successfully collaborate with leadership teams to meet study deliverables, understanding what information needs to be communicated.
  • Create processes to direct work to clinicians and manage level of quality across and within programs; provide feedback to supervisors/managers on performance.
  • Create data visualizations that enable stakeholders.
  • Effectively manage, track, and proactively communicate key project deliverables

Requirements

  • 10+ years clinical trials operations experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or CRO environment (previous Rater services operational experience preferred)
  • BA/BS degree (relevant Master's degree preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of traditional neuropsychological/ psychological assessment tools
  • Proficiency with MS products, learning management systems, and database management systems
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle

Experience

  • 10+ years of professional services delivery in a regulated clinical research environment
  • 10+ years of successful mid to large size team management, encompassing the entire employee lifecycle (includes resource planning and allocation, hiring, mentoring, and coaching).
  • Strong change management experience in regulated clinical research environment (process evaluation, development)
  • Demonstrated skills in creating and implementing new technology systems.
