Job summary

Lilly is seeking a skilled Drug Product Sourcing professional to lead external partnerships with CMOs for clinical drug product manufacturing (Phase 1–3). The role partners with CM&C, CSD, BRD, and SMDD to assess needs, manage RFPs, and ensure performance against KPIs.

Ideal candidates have parenteral manufacturing experience and a track record of supplier due diligence, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration across global teams.

Qualifications

• Parenteral drug product manufacturing experience required.
• Demonstrated experience managing external CMO relationships and working knowledge of clinical drug product manufacturing.
• Strong vendor relationship management, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Experience leading supplier due diligence and qualification efforts, including on-site assessments.

Responsibilities

• Assess clinical drug product manufacturing needs and match to CMOs based on capability, capacity and modality fit.
• Lead DP sourcing, including RFP authoring with SMEs and collaboration with Procurement.
• Serve as DP Supply Chain resource for external CMOs during sourcing and follow-up.
• Oversee evaluation of proposals and develop external sourcing recommendations with program teams and leadership.
• Monitor vendor performance metrics and communicate through scorecards and business reviews.
• Act as a primary contact for issue escalation with manufacturing partners and ensure cross-cultural communication.
