Job Title: Associate Director, Business Development

Location: Greater Boston Area

Department: Global BD and Alliance Management

Job Summary:

  • CDMO business development by managing the existing business with current clients, and working within the biotech sector in the greater Boston area to increase our business and client base.
  • Work closely with the Senior Business Development leadership team, and operations, to develop the right strategies and tactics to meet the sales targets for the region.
  • Stay current on competitors and competitive strategies, and provide input required for the development of future service offerings.



Responsibilites:

  • Achieve regional sales targets.
  • Grow the business in the responsible region, by identifying/developing new biotech clients, expanding existing biotech clients’ business, and developing/managing strategic accounts, across WuXi Biologics’ value chain.
  • Manage a portfolio of biotech accounts.
  • Build strong relationships with clients
  • Build strong internal relationships across functions.
  • Work closely and align with functions/SMEs for each account.
  • Multi-task by demonstrating excellent skills for internal/external communications, proposal/work order reviews as well as conducting contract negotiation processes in parallel to enable fast project timelines.
  • Represent WuXi Biologics at trade shows.
  • Contribute to key commercial strategies across the Global BD team.
  • Manage all business aspects of the customer relationship.
  • Deliver exemplary customer service.
  • Timely update of Salesforce.com and monitor KPIs.



Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree. MBA or PhD preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years, or Master/PhD degree with at least 3 years, of life science industry experience preferably including 2 years of successful sales and territory management experience within the CMO / CRO space.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong gravitas and relationship building skills.
  • Listening and empathy demonstrated.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
  • Demonstrated success at managing multiple opportunities and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to exhibit effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement sales strategies and tactics.
  • Must be organized and detailed-oriented.



The pay range for this position is $100-178k
