Job summary

THE·TEAM seeks a seasoned Brands Retainer Client lead to develop and manage relationships, sponsorships and partnerships across sports and entertainment. You will ensure client satisfaction, coordinate with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-impact programs.

Travel to events, lead on-site activations, and deliver performance insights. Strong negotiation, communication and team leadership are essential as you help grow client value and agency collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience with minimum 4 years in account and project management (sports/entertainment preferred).
  • Willingness to travel and be on-site at multiple events per year, including some international travel.
  • Experience managing B2B guest hosting programming with responsibility for guest experience.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills for deck development and performance tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site execution of select client events and hosting programs.
  • Direct portfolio strategy projects with quantitative/qualitative analysis to generate insights.
  • Oversee performance tracking and reporting for client partnerships across sports and entertainment.
  • Coordinate regular two-way communication between clients, internal teams and external partners.

Job Overview

THE·TEAM is looking for a motivated individual to join a Brands Retainer Client. This position is responsible for leading, developing and managing a variety of current and prospective business relationships, sponsorships, and other partnerships in order to ensure client satisfaction. This position is expected to consistently provide excellent customer service to accounts, as well as represent client needs and goals within the organization to ensure quality.

What You’ll Do
  • Support and lead on-site execution of select client events, including B2B customer hosting programs, serving in a visible, client-facing hosting capacity
  • Support our Strategy, Insights, and Measurement vertical, including the direction of all portfolio strategy projects for the client, showing an ability to conduct both quantitative and qualitative analysis to generate insights and recommendations
  • Lead the performance tracking, measurement, and reporting for all client partnerships across sports and entertainment
  • Contribute to key recap reports covering priority activation and end of year partnership verticals
  • Be an in-team expert on Wasserman valuation methodologies, tools, and implementation
  • Assists Senior Director in the management, training and professional development of more junior team members
  • Oversee interagency relationships related to job function; work with our THE·TEAM agency team to manage outside agencies and partner to ensure smooth execution of all client programs; mentor and guide status calls, integrate project plans, and more
  • Can demonstrate experience leading teams through condensed timelines over several time zones, multiple deliverables in parallel, various stakeholders and adhering to a process that ensures deliverable completion and maintains the highest quality possible
  • Oversee, initiate and delegate regular two-way communication between our day-to-day clients, client business units, client brand teams, internal THE·TEAM teams and all external partners and vendors to provide strong client service and set proper client expectations
  • Take a proactive role to understand Wasserman’s capabilities and service offerings in order to identify opportunities to present new capabilities to the clients
  • Is comfortable expanding beyond the remit of this particular role and is willing to support and/or help lead new client pitches and play a role in responding to RFPs
  • Think daily about business development and new revenue opportunities with existing clients and potential clients
What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree
  • 6+ years relevant experience with minimum 4 years of direct experience in account and project management (preferably in the sports or entertainment field, college sports a plus)
  • Willingness to travel and be on‑site at multiple events per year, including some international travel
  • Experience managing B2B customer hosting programming with direct responsibility for guest experience and on‑site engagement
  • High‑level proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel for deck development and performance tracking / calculations
  • Previous experience managing a team and balancing multiple external clients / stakeholders
  • Possesses exceptional communication skills, both oral and written. Can adapt to various situations and personalities and is capable of executing in a fast‑paced environment
  • High level of initiative and works well independently and in a team environment
  • Plans and carries out responsibilities with minimal direction while capable of delegating tasks with accountability
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized
  • Well‑developed analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Valuation experience and familiarity with contractual language both in traditional sponsorship arrangements and non‑traditional business‑to‑business partnerships

Base salary range: $80,000 - $100,000 plus bonus potential.

Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Compensation decisions are dependent on circumstances of each hire.
