Job summary

92NY seeks an Associate Director, School Engagement in the Arts to lead programmatic activities across the SEA department and collaborate with the Director and Executive Director on residencies, performances, and professional development for NYC public schools.

The role requires extensive experience with NYC public schools, managing relationships with school leaders, educators, and Teaching Artists, and a focus on dance education. Direct oversight of the Young Writers Workshop is included.

Qualifications

• Extensive work with NYC public schools
• Proven ability managing arts education programs and Teaching Artists
• Experience in dance education and dance program oversight
• Experience with writing, literary arts, or youth arts education programs
• Expertise in curriculum development and arts education programming across art forms
• Strong diplomatic communication and relationship-building with principals and teachers

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and expand arts education programs in NYC public schools
• Build and manage relationships with school leaders, teachers and partners
• Supervise SEA staff and provide mentoring and professional development
• Recruit, hire, and support Teaching Artists
• Coordinate curricula for residencies and arts initiatives (focus on dance)
• Oversee department events, school day performances and field trips
• Direct the Young Writers Workshop, including planning and selection
• Assess programs and students to identify improvements and refine delivery
