Job summary

Deerfield Academy is seeking an Associate Director for the Deerfield Fund for Young Alumni to drive fundraising strategy and oversee donor stewardship. The role leads reunion fundraising for the 20th and 25th classes, manages staff and volunteers, and collaborates across departments to advance fundraising goals.

The successful candidate will report to the Director of the Deerfield Fund, participate in weekend activities, and manage a portfolio of leadership-level prospects while ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5-7 years of experience in Advancement or similar related work experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
• Experience providing leadership, management and mentorship to staff.
• Experience in managing volunteers.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A high level of integrity and a strong work ethic.
• Skilled with MS Word and Office and familiarity with integrated databases.
• Ability and willingness to travel.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
• Ability to manage, and sensitivity to, highly confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing overall fundraising strategy and campaigns.
• Assist in analyzing program metrics to determine ROI.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive donor stewardship program.
• Manage Deerfield Fund communications and timelines with outside vendors.
• Co-manage class volunteer program across classes.
• Direct Reunion fundraising for 20th and 25th reunions, including goal setting and volunteer management.
• Collaborate with Alumni Relations on reunion programming.
• Manage leadership gift prospect portfolio and track activity.
• Report on prospect activity and maintain contact reports.
• Participate in weekend and evening activities as needed.
