Position Summary

Lead existing strategic alliance partnerships and support cross-functional corporate-level initiatives., objectives, and key results. This individual will be responsible for fostering strong relationships, ensuring alignment of goals, and driving the success of strategic alliances and corporate initiatives. As the primary point of contact for strategic relationships, this person will actively manage alliance partner dynamics and complexities across geographic regions. Reporting to the Chief of Staff to the COO and Head of Alliance Management, the Associate Director will support various aspects of the business, driving efficiency and strategic initiatives.

Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities

These may include but are not limited to:

  • Lead day-to-day alliance activities and joint governance for domestic and international alliances, ensuring successful collaboration and execution.
  • Establish and maintain trust and effective relationships with partners and internal/external team members.
  • Ensure that roles, responsibilities, and obligations are understood and maintained between the parties.
  • Act as the main point of contact, collaborating with internal team members, senior leaders, and alliance counterparts to advance aligned goals and deliverables, and overall health and success of the collaboration.
  • Oversee collaboration governance, including communication, decision-making, issue escalation, and best practices, while managing joint committees and project teams.
  • Ensure that alliance goals progress and meet or exceed pre-defined objectives and timelines.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of alliance partners; serve as the internal Crinetics expert on the relevant contractual and business agreements, partner dynamics, and the overall state of the partner relationship.
  • Proactively identify and resolve conflicts while maintaining collaborative working relationships, ensuring internal alignment prior to joint decisions.
  • Ensure that strategies and decisions adopted by the governance committees are implemented and that plans/actions are consistent with contractual agreements.
  • Track and communicate contract achievements, obligations, and financial payments ensuring that both parties meet contractual obligations.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to optimize decision-making and maximize partnership value for both organizations through routine assessments of partnership health and seeking business opportunities.
  • Interface closely with business development and legal to clarify contractual aspects and provide guidance to enhance the values of alliances, ensure appropriate boundaries are set, and guide decision-making.
  • Lead and support corporate-level initiatives under the guidance of the Chief of Staff to the COO.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to ensure alignment and successful execution of corporate-level initiatives, objectives, and key results.
Required
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in science related field required, MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • 12 years of industry experience with general knowledge of pharmaceutical operations, i.e., clinical development, regulatory, commercialization, manufacturing, and legal.
  • Minimum of 1 year in engagement, partnership or alliance manager role. Experience with partnerships in Asia-Pacific region preferred.
  • Highly collaborative, possess a track record of building and maintaining cross-functional relationships, and able to communicate business topics effectively with senior management and across cultures.
  • Excellent business acumen with demonstrated ability to develop solutions that support product, team, corporate, and alliance objectives.
  • Demonstrates poise in conflict situations, has the ability to keep an objective perspective, and exercise diplomacy in all interactions.
  • Ability to work effectively across organizational levels, functions and geographic boundaries to complete objectives.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to build relationships.
Preferred
  • Broad business and pharmaceutical experience preferably both international and US with demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and exercise diplomacy in a range of situations.
  • Previous cross-functional experience is desirable as this position requires a high degree of interaction with teams encompassing R&D Product Development, Manufacturing, Commercial, and Finance.
Physical Demands And Work Environment

Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate. Total Compensation

In addition to your base pay, our total rewards program consists of a discretionary annual target bonus, stock options, ESPP, and 401k match. We also provide top-notch health insurance plans for employees (and their families) to include medical, dental, vision and basic life insurance, 20 days of PTO, 10 paid holidays, and a winter company shutdown.

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience and education. Crinetics Pharmaceuticals is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states. Salary Range

The salary range for this position is: $172,000 - $215,000.
