Job summary

Novartis seeks a patient access and reimbursement lead to educate defined accounts on access topics and align product strategy. You will support large accounts with executives, providers, administrators, billing and revenue cycle leaders to enable patient access.

You will analyze access issues, stay current on regional policies, and interface with the Patient Support Center and Access & Reimbursement Managers to resolve cases and educate staff. Travel required 60–80%.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; business/biological science preferred; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years pharma/biotech experience (Patient Services, Market Access, Sales, and/or account management), with 2+ years in a Patient Services practice support role for specialty products.
  • Experience with highly complex practices/health systems; strategic proactive account management.
  • Deep expertise integrating manufacturer-sponsored patient support programs; specialty pharmacy network experience.
  • Knowledge of reimbursement pathways (specialty pharmacy, buy-and-bill, retail).
  • Reside within territory or within 60 miles commuting distance; travel 60–80%; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person (or virtual as needed) education to defined accounts on access and reimbursement topics to support aligned product strategy.
  • Serve as patient access and reimbursement lead in business-to-business conversations with account executives; manage pull-through of access/reimbursement strategy and downstream operations.
  • Support large, complex accounts by working with executives, providers, administrators, billing/coding, claims, and revenue cycle leaders to enable patient access.
  • Analyze access/reimbursement problems and develop solutions for local payer policy coverage and barriers; support provider-level reimbursement issues.
  • Maintain expertise in regional/local access landscape and act as reimbursement expert as needed.
  • Interface with Patient Support Center and Access & Reimbursement Managers on case tracking, issue resolution, reimbursement support, and office staff education.
  • Educate HCPs on acquisition pathways (including buy-and-bill and facility pull-through) and alternative channels (white/clear/brown bagging, alternate site of care).
  • Assess access situation and develop/communicate a Plan of Action (POA); educate stakeholders on ordering, payment, inventory, and product returns/replacement.

Education
