TheCenter for Trans and Queer Advocacy (CTQA)isa resourceforlesbian, gay, bisexual,non-binary, transgender,queer,questioning, intersex, asexual,and ally members of theWest Chester Universitycommunity.The mission of the CTQA is to cultivate an environment where the intersectional experiences of trans and queer people are supported, celebrated, validated and affirmed by providing access to LGBTQIA+ resources and community advancement.
Reporting to the Director for the CTQA, the Associate Director works collaboratively with the CTQA staff to support the mission and function of the Center. The Associate Director provides extensive program development, outreach, and resource development; peer education program and student leadership training and development; and educational training and development on campus. This position supports students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members who access the space; supervises student employees and volunteers; provides resources and outreach; and assists with administration and oversight of the Center.
The ideal candidatewill demonstrateanunderstandingof lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, queer, questioning, intersex, asexualidentities andexperiences;experience working with peoplewithmarginalized genders andsexualities;theability to take initiative, problem solve and work independently; and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with consistent accuracy, follow-through, and timely completion of projects.
Responsibilities include:
Salary and benefits are dictated by the State College and University Professional Association (SCUPA) Collective Bargaining Agreement.
This position requires the ability to work some evenings and weekends for programming and educational opportunities outside of regular business hours.
