Job summary

Golub Capital Europe is hiring a Senior Vice President to lead underwriting and portfolio monitoring for European middle‑market loans. You will work with junior and senior underwriters to evaluate new opportunities and manage existing investments in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Candidates need a finance degree and 2+ years in leveraged credit or investment banking, strong financial modelling, and proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related subject area.
  • 2+ years of experience in leveraged credit or investment banking.
  • Strong analytical, financial modelling and research skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Organised, detail driven and process oriented.
  • Preferably fluent in at least one European language besides English.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively leverage AI tools in day-to-day work.

Responsibilities

  • New Deals (>70%): Review investment opportunities and prepare financial models and memoranda.
  • Portfolio Management (<30%): Prepare portfolio reviews and analyze Covenant models.
  • Coordinate deal closings and assist investment committee presentations.
  • Monitor industry events and company press releases; maintain investment detail.

The team structures financing solutions with hold positions up to €300 million. They also underwrite senior credit facilities and a proprietary suite of GOLD (unitranche) facilities up to €600 million. The Middle Market Lending Team has teams in five verticals: healthcare, consumer, restaurant and retail, software & technology services, diversified industries and financial services. The team has an outstanding track record of closing deals on time and at the agreed upon terms, utilising deep industry knowledge to identify, advise on and implement value creation strategies. Key responsibilities include underwriting of loans and monitoring the portfolio.
