Job summary

Golub Capital seeks an Associate Director to support Business Technology & Analytics, reviewing portfolio company financials and guiding data quality initiatives. You will monitor data stewardship, ensure accurate reporting, and partner with technology teams to deliver timely data requests.

In this role you’ll leverage advanced Excel and PowerBI skills to analyze large datasets, support investor reporting, and drive improvements across the data lifecycle in a fast-paced, hybrid NY office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with private credit, leveraged finance or asset management is a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow).
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Review and maintain portfolio company financial information.
  • Monitor data stewardship for accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes and data delivery.
  • Coordinate with Investor Reporting and Data Analytics on ad hoc requests.
  • Liaise with teams to ensure data is accessible and trusted.

Position InformationHiring Manager:Associate DirectorDepartment:Business Technology & AnalyticsDepartment OverviewThe Business Technology & Analytics Team (BT&A) supports the Firm through driving collaboration and advancement in business-centric technology, enabling the Firm to leverage data and technology assets for insights and day-to-day decision-making.Position ResponsibilitiesThis role will assist in the review and maintenance of portfolio company financial information, projects and provide support to end users with data quality initiatives.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Assisting in monitoring and analyzing a diverse portfolio of debt and equity financingsMonitoring data stewardship processes for data comprehensiveness, quality and ensuring standards are being adhered toProactively identifying opportunities for improvement throughout the full business process life cycleProactively monitoring report availability and accuracy, partnering with counterparts in Technology Solutions to resolve issues and ensure consistent and successful delivery of data requests and reportsEnsuring consistency and successful use of reporting systems utilized by the FirmIdentifying key systems used by the Firm to determine where relevant data is housedShepherding new investor data needs through the Data Governance process to draft and achieve approval of definitions, data owners / stewards and source systemsDefining associated data quality standards and monitoring proceduresCommunicating with investment professionals to confirm details around borrower financial statements and cash flow activityLiaising with Investor Reporting and Data Analytics Teams on ad hoc data requests and ongoing reporting projectsConducting detailed analyses on large data sets with Microsoft Excel, using advanced functionsValidating key terms against investment team memos, credit agreements, amendments and other related documentsCandidate RequirementsQualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance or Accounting7+ years of relevant work experiencePrior exposure to private credit, leveraged finance or asset management a plusKnowledge and understanding of financial statements including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statementsStrong working knowledge of ExcelFamiliar with Microsoft Office and associated enterprise tools (e.g., Word, SharePoint, PowerBI)Experience with portfolio monitoring systems (e.g., Allvue, 73 Strings, Chronograph)Extreme attention to detailAbility to take initiative and work independently while demonstrating strong teamworkMust be able to work in a fast-paced environment, manage time and priorities under pressure and meet deadlinesDemonstrated ability to effectively leverage AI tools in day-to-day work, with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, limitations and appropriate use of AI generated outputsEnthusiastic about working in office and creating a Gold Standard hybrid work cultureCritical Competencies for SuccessOur Gold Standards define key behaviors and competencies across 4 dimensions: Leadership, Achieving Results, Personal Effectiveness and Thinking Critically. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experiences and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
