Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 4–7+ years of renewable energy development, infrastructure investing, or related experience.
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
  • Experience supporting renewable energy transactions (solar, storage, and hybrid).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced transaction environment.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the evaluation and execution of renewable energy M&A transactions, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic investments.
  • Assist deal teams in coordinating due diligence processes across commercial, technical, legal, tax, accounting, and financing workstreams.
  • Develop and maintain financial models, valuation analyses, investment committee materials, and transaction summaries.
  • Support negotiation processes, data room management, and transaction tracking.

Position Overview

Business Development is seeking to add a highly motivated Manager, M&A and Strategic Development to support the continued growth of HWR platform. This individual will play a critical role in supporting the execution of mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, and broader strategic corporate development initiatives. The position will work closely with internal deal leads, finance, legal, development, and CBDO to help drive transaction execution and strategic initiatives. The role is intended to support the expansion of the Business Development organization as transaction activity and strategic initiatives continue to grow, including increasing workload associated with project divestitures and M&A opportunities. The employee may be required to perform other job-related duties as requested by management. All duties will be assigned in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.

Responsibilities
Transaction Execution & M&A Support
  • Support the evaluation and execution of renewable energy M&A transactions, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic investments.
  • Assist deal teams in coordinating due diligence processes across commercial, technical, legal, tax, accounting, and financing workstreams.
  • Develop and maintain financial models, valuation analyses, investment committee materials, and transaction summaries.
  • Support negotiation processes, data room management, and transaction tracking.
Divestiture & Portfolio Monetization
  • Support renewable project divestiture processes across solar, storage, and hybrid assets.
  • Assist Business Development deal leads in managing sell-side transaction workflows and coordinating with external advisors, buyers, and counterparties.
  • Help prepare marketing materials, management presentations, valuation analyses, and transaction process documentation.
  • Support the evolving role of the Business Development team as project lead on divestiture transactions.
Strategic Corporate Development
  • Support strategic partnership evaluations and broader corporate development initiatives.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis related to the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors.
  • Assist leadership in evaluating strategic growth opportunities, market entry strategies, and portfolio optimization initiatives.
Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Coordinate closely with Development, Finance, Legal, EPC, Asset Management, and Executive teams to support transaction execution.
  • Prepare internal presentations and executive-level summaries for senior management and investment committees.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 4–7+ years of relevant experience in:
    • Renewable energy development or infrastructure investing
    • Investment banking
    • Project finance
    • Corporate development
    • M&A advisory
    • Renewable energy private equity or strategic platforms
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
  • Experience supporting renewable energy transactions, including solar, storage, and hybrid projects preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced transaction environment.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities required.

COMPENSATION: $140,000 - $160,000 salary
