Job summary

United Legwear & Apparel Co. in New York City is seeking an Associate Designer for the Kids line. You will support the design team from concept to production, helping develop innovative, trend-right products for PUMA Kids boys’ apparel.

You will sketch, research trends, create CADs, prepare tech packs, and liaise with factories and sales to turn concepts into market-ready pieces. A Bachelor’s in Fashion and 2+ years in design, including kidswear, are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or related field and 2+ years of design experience, including kidswear.
• Knowledge of fashion trends in color, fabrics and style.
• Creativity and keen attention to detail with ability to visualize in three dimensions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Photoshop, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.
• Ability to work independently and with a team under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design, sketch, and develop ideas for multiple lines/collections.
• Research fashion trends and interpret them for the brand.
• Generate, update and recolor seasonal CADs for multiple brands.
• Produce detailed tech packs from concept to pre-production.
• Input Tech Packs into Exenta system.
• Coordinate with factories on tech pack revisions and approvals.
• Review lab dips and strike offs.
• Collaborate with sales on design ideas.
• Organize samples for market and meetings.
• Support company operations as needed.
