Job summary

Henderson Group Recruiting is seeking a design-driven apparel designer to support the Big Girls Walmart licensed collection in NYC. You will explore fashion trends, create colorways, and present designs using Illustrator and Photoshop, collaborating with Senior Designers, Merchandising, and Product Development teams.

Responsibilities include developing concepts aligned with brand guidelines, reviewing samples, organizing design files, and assisting with approvals to meet retailer expectations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years apparel design experience, preferably in children's or retail apparel.
• Proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop; strong sense of fashion trends and color.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects.
• Licensed apparel experience is a plus; must be located in NYC.
• Position is onsite with some flexibility to work from home on Fridays.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of seasonal apparel collections for the Big Girls Walmart licensed business
• Research current fashion, color, graphic, and market trends relevant to the target customer
• Create and update apparel designs, colorways, and presentations using Illustrator and Photoshop
• Collaborate with Senior Designers, Graphic Designers, Merchandising, and Product Development teams
• Help develop design concepts that align with brand guidelines, retailer needs, and seasonal trends
• Review samples and provide design feedback throughout the development process
• Organize and maintain design files, artwork, and seasonal project information
• Assist with approvals and revisions to ensure designs meet brand and customer expectations
