Job summary

Aéropostale in New York is seeking an Associate Designer for Girls’ Wovens to contribute to seasonal collections. You will help translate trend research into designs, CADs, color palettes, and product presentations, while coordinating with cross-functional partners to ensure timely execution.

The role requires 3–4 years of apparel design experience, a fashion design degree, and strong Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop skills, with a portfolio that shows CAD, technical drawings, and trend awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Fashion Design or related field.
• 3–4 years of apparel design experience, preferably teen/YA/contemporary brands.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating design, technical proficiency, and trend awareness.

Responsibilities

• Design & Creative Development: research trends, color, fabric, and silhouettes; develop seasonal concepts and color palettes; create CADs and design presentations.
• Product Development & Technical Execution: create and maintain tech packs; review fit samples with Technical Design; collaborate on fabric, trims, washes, and construction.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with Merchandising, Product Development, Production, and Sourcing; present designs and feedback.
• Operational & Team Support: manage multiple styles and deadlines; maintain design files and PLM data; support leadership and interns as needed.
