Job summary

Tory Burch is seeking an Associate Designer to join the footwear design team in New York. You will collaborate with Senior Designers and support the broader Design team from concept through production, contributing to an elevated aesthetic and precise tech packs.

The ideal candidate brings 2+ years in luxury fashion, strong hand-sketching and Adobe Creative Suite skills, and the ability to manage multiple seasons in a fast-paced environment. A digital portfolio is required.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field is required or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of design experience in luxury or premium fashion is required.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) is required.
• Strong hand-sketching and Illustrator skills are essential.
• Ability to build detailed, organized tech packs and pass specs to factories for prototyping.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; willingness to learn and grow.
• Creative problem-solver who adapts to fast-paced multi-season work.
• Familiarity with PLM is a plus; a digital portfolio showcasing relevant work is required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Design team to create and develop elevated footwear product.
• Build seasonal design boards and keep them organized and up to date.
• Update sketches and boards as development progresses.
• Collect, track, and organize all information related to each style for team access.
• Create hand sketches and technical drawings in Illustrator for tech packs.
• Create thorough tech packs with sketches and construction details.
• Create CADs and seasonal decks using Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Take notes during meetings and capture all design updates.
• Prepare samples and prototypes for review.
• Assist with specs and updates throughout the season.
• Update and track product in PLM.
• Compile trend research and maintain archive.

The Associate Designer will work closely with the Senior Designer and support the broader Design team to develop and maintain footwear designs from concept through production. The ideal candidate is creative, highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment. They are passionate about product and possess an elevated aesthetic and a strong eye for detail that aligns with the Tory Burch brand.

A Day in the Life:

• Collaborate with the Design team to create and develop elevated footwear product.
• Build seasonal design boards and keep them organized and up to date.
• Update sketches and boards as development progresses.
• Collect, track, and organize all information related to each style, ensuring it is complete and easily accessible to the team.
• Create both hand sketches and technical drawings in Illustrator for tech packs.
• Create thorough tech packs with sketches, complete construction details, and mock-ups as needed.
• Create and execute CADs, including seasonal decks, using Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Take notes during design and sketch meetings and capture all updates to designs.
• Prepare samples and prototypes for review.
• Assist with specs, ensuring they are accurate and updated throughout the season.
• Update and track product in PLM.
• Compile trend research and organize and maintain the vintage and inspiration archive.
• Participate in fit sessions

To Land This Role:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of design experience, ideally within a luxury or premium fashion environment.
• High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Strong hand-sketching and Illustrator skills.
• Ability to build detailed, organized, and clear tech packs and pass specifications to factories for prototype development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.Willingness to learn, grow, and take on new challenges.
• Resourceful problem-solver with the ability to apply creative thinking to challenges.
• Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple product seasons simultaneously.
• Familiarity with PLM is a plus.
• Must provide a digital portfolio showcasing relevant work.

Compensation Range

The compensation range for this position is 70,000.00 USD - 80,000.00 USD. Our offer will be based on your relevant experience and work location.
