Job summary

La Jolla Group in Irvine, CA is seeking a temp apparel designer to support design teams across multiple brands in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with Product Development, Tech Design, and Production, translating trends into tech packs and graphics.

Responsibilities

  • Create tech packs (technical sketches, CADs, BOMs, trims) in illustrator format with high proficiency.
  • Create, manipulate and pitch prints, stripes, plaids and graphics in illustrator format.
  • Keep design department organized by filing and storing all trims, fabric, submits and samples so cross functional teams can easily access when needed.
  • Development: Review vendor submits (lab-dips, strike-offs, handlooms, proto samples) and communicate comments to designers/ product developers.
  • Assist in daily design process in multiple seasons, brands and product lifecycles, including trend research, sketching in illustrator, fabric and trim selection and fittings.

General Summary

We are looking for a temp creative assistant apparel designer to support design team across multiple brands. We are seeking an individual who will work well with the creative team in a fast-paced environment, has a positive attitude, is quality driven and pays close attention to detail. Deadline driven performance is essential. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate well with all departments, including Product Development, Tech Design, and Production, on collaborating efforts.

Essential Job Functions
  • Technical Packs: Ability to create tech packs (technical sketches, CADs, BOMs, trims) in illustrator format with high proficiency.
  • Art Development: Ability to create, manipulate and pitch prints, stripes, plaids and graphics in illustrator format.
  • Organization: Keep design department organized by filing and storing all trims, fabric, submits and samples so cross functional teams can easily access when needed. Additionally, take meeting notes and communicate to cross-functional teams.

  • Assist in daily design process in multiple seasons, brands and product lifecycles. Examples include: online trend research, shopping, sketching in illustrator, fabric and trim selection and development and fittings.
