Job summary

Santa Fe Apparel is seeking an associate designer for our print and graphics team to develop new designs across multiple men’s and women’s collections. You will own the development cycle from concept through factory-ready artwork, coordinating with overseas factories and the private label team.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in graphics/prints, strong Adobe Illustrator skills, PLM experience, and a keen eye for detail. It is an in-office position with a typical 5-day work week.

Qualifications

  • Expert in Adobe Illustrator ( Photoshop preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage graphic and print designs for multiple collections across men and women's lines.
  • Create development decks, Pantone pitches, and artwork placements; ensure factory-ready files.
  • Collaborate with overseas factories to develop new styles and source materials.
  • Manage development timelines, color palettes, and lab dip/strike-off approvals.
  • Use PLM to upload style details, sketches, BOMs, color CADs and branding positions.
  • Review and pass off samples through the production cycle with teams.

We're hiring an associate designer for our print and graphics team! You will be responsible for creating and developing new designs and bringing your creations to life across multiple men and women's collections.

Responsibilities:
Development Cycle
  • Thorough understanding of graphic and print designs, layouts, setups, etc.
  • Able to create both graphic and print designs
  • Thorough knowledge of woven and knit fabrics, including current trends in fabrics, technical features, and garment functionality and how to combine those elements into new products
  • Design into a brand or customer's color pallet.
  • Color CAD development and put together development deck for sales
  • Create and manage the graphic and print development for branded collections and private label accounts. Including making factory ready artwork files; pitching pantones, creating artwork placements and resizing artwork to the correct scale.
  • Manage and maintain T&A Calendar and Sku Count
  • Create new development for private label customers according to there specifications
  • Work and follow up with overseas factories to develop new styles and source new qualities.
  • Showcase new development and update the team on time line and issues throughout the development cycle.
  • Create seasonal production direction through garment research, trend analysis and color palette creation.
  • Review and approve lab dips, wash panels (as needed) and print strike offs for seasonal development, ensure color and execution follows as per the design direction.
  • Work in PLM to upload style details, sketches, label placement, branding, bill of materials and color cads.
  • Work with the technical team to pass off technical detail callouts and specs in PLM.
  • Update the development chart weekly including sample status and etas for each development style
  • File all fabric/trim cards into development binders
  • Review and pass off new development samples to the assistant designer to be tagged correctly then passed off to the sales assistant to be photographed.
  • Review all received garments with the sales team and pass off to them to put in the showroom. Call out any mistakes or revisions needed and follow up with factory to get corrected sample
Production Cycle
  • Attend handoff meetings for orders; review the garments ordered, pass off color standards to the production manager, review artwork needed/pass off if ready prior to the meeting and review costing and garment changes.
  • Work on production orders, updating and uploading the styles into PLM; sketches, style details, Bill of Materials (colorways), label placements, branding and hangtags.
  • Create and manage the hangtag development library, all development styles need to have appropriate hangtags to follow per each garment’s specific features.
  • Pass off production order details to the production manager and technical designer to input the grading, specs and garment callouts. Pass off any factory ready artwork files (graphics, prints, embroidery) and fabric standards to follow per order.
  • Attend all production fittings for the product through first fit to PP/TOP stage, advise fit comments to the tech to ensure the garment meets customer and brand fit requirements.
  • Work with the production manager throughout the production cycle as they review fabric and trim approvals with you to ensure product maintains the same look and quality as the garment originally sold.
Requirements:
  • 5+ Years Design Experience in graphics and prints
  • Experience working with and providing feedback to remote freelance graphic designers
  • Expert withadobe design software: Illustrator primarily, Photoshop secondary.
  • PLM experience
  • Team Player and open to design changes/constructive feedback.
  • A keen eye for detail and excellent follow through.
  • Ability to manage and meet deadlines
  • In office position 5 days
Compensation and Benefits:

Salary Range: 60-70K based on experience
