Job summary

Sam Houston State University’s College of Health Sciences seeks an Associate Dean to lead research and graduate programs, oversee accreditation activity, and drive faculty development within COHS. This role reports to the Dean and serves on the college’s administrative leadership team, guiding strategic initiatives and advancing scholarly excellence across Huntsville campus and partner sites.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate or terminal degree in a discipline represented in the College of Health Sciences.
• Record of high-quality performance as an educator and scholarly achievement.
• Experience in administration at the college or university level.
• Demonstrated human relations and managerial skills.
• Candidates should have a documented record of experiences sufficient to warrant appointment at the Full Professor rank in one of the College’s tenure units.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Dean of the College with COHS graduate programs portfolio support.
• Support COHS research activity and graduate education, faculty development, and student success initiatives.
• Provide leadership for accreditation processes for COHS graduate programs and internal/external communications.
• Advance COHS strategic priorities related to research productivity, external funding, and academic excellence.
