Job summary

University of West Los Angeles (UWLA) seeks an Associate Dean to implement the Dean’s policies, ensure compliance, and foster a data-driven academic culture. The role reports to the Dean of the School of Law and leads academic affairs, curriculum, and accreditation initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a JD, at least 1 year of academic leadership experience, and a strong background in law school education and administration. Office location is in the Los Angeles area.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Juris Doctor Degree and have at least 1 year of academic experience with leadership.
• Strong knowledge of law school education and pedagogy/andragogy.
• Experience in academic administration.
• Ability to report to the Dean and work on-site in Los Angeles area.

Responsibilities

• Oversee academic affairs and curriculum development, including accreditation processes.
• Assist Dean with faculty recruitment, hiring, retention, and development.
• Support student admissions, advising, and resolving academic or disciplinary concerns; manage daily operations of LAW school administration.
• Assist with strategic planning, policy management, accreditation, and institutional assessment.
