Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX invites applications for the role of Associate Dean of College in the College of Health Sciences. The appointee will participate in leadership, support graduate programs, foster research activity, and oversee accreditation and faculty development.

The Associate Dean provides oversight for college initiatives, mentors faculty and staff, and collaborates with other units to advance scholarly excellence and student success across COHS.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate or terminal degree in a discipline represented in the College of Health Sciences.
• Evidence of scholarly achievement and high-quality pedagogy.
• Experience in college/university level administration.
• Candidates should have a documented record of experience sufficient to warrant appointment at the Full Professor rank in one of the College’s tenure units.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Dean with COHS graduate programs portfolio support and COHS research activity support.
• Provide leadership for the College’s research, graduate education, faculty development, and student success initiatives.
• Oversee accreditation support for COHS graduate programs, faculty matters, and internal/external COHS communication.
• Promote undergraduate and graduate research activities and manage scholarships and fiscal matters.
