Responsibilities

Educational Policies: Develop and enforce policies related to academic standards, student progression, and assessment procedures.
Quality Assurance: Monitor teaching/learning quality and promote continuous improvement and innovation.
Faculty Recruitment: Participate in the selection and hiring of faculty, ensuring a diverse and qualified staff.
Professional Development: Support faculty development through workshops, seminars, and research/publication opportunities.
Performance Evaluation: Conduct regular evaluations of faculty performance and provide feedback.
Student Services: Oversee counseling, career advising, and academic support.
Student Discipline: Address student conduct per school policies.
Student Engagement: Foster community through extracurriculars and events.
Budget Management: Develop/manage the dental school budget; allocate resources effectively.
Facilities and Resources: Ensure facilities, labs, and equipment meet educational needs.
Accreditation and Compliance: Ensure compliance with accreditation standards by dental boards/accrediting bodies.
Community Engagement: Represent the school within the university and with external stakeholders.
Advocacy: Promote the school’s interests at local/state/national levels.
Research Support: Encourage faculty research and scholarly activity.
Technology Integration: Adopt new technologies to enhance education and clinical training.
Strategic Vision: Develop plans to advance the school’s mission and growth.
Fundraising: Collaborate with development to secure funding for research, facilities, and scholarships.
