Job summary

OCLC seeks an Associate Data Scientist to collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.

You will maintain the data platform, translate business requirements into rapid prototype reports and dashboards, and build data models and KPI metrics from internal databases while adhering to DataOps practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in a quantitative field with 2+ years in data science or Master’s with 1+ year in data science.
• Proficient in SQL for data warehouses.
• Intermediate Python proficiency (pandas/numpy, scikit-learn).
• Experience with statistical methods and ML; probability and inference fundamentals.
• Experience with hypothesis testing and experiments design.
• Exposure to cloud environments and software engineering practices (Git, code reviews, testing).

Responsibilities

• Maintain OCLC’s data platform with up-to-date, quality data.
• Translate business problems to technical requirements to design rapid prototypes of reports and dashboards.
• Build and maintain data models, reports, dashboards, and KPI/metrics from internal databases.
• Write performant code that adheres to internal standards for a high-scale data environment and participate in code reviews.
• Perform exploratory data analysis for QA, reporting, and informing ML model development.
• Contribute to DataOps implementation across activities.
• Create and maintain documentation for data science initiatives and data resources; collaborate with Data Scientists to drive efficiencies.
