Job summary

Solace seeks an Associate Data Scientist in Redwood City for a hands-on data science role. You will work on forecasting and machine-learning systems powering our real-time marketplace, matching patients with advocates and predicting demand.

You will contribute to real models with mentorship from senior data scientists and be encouraged to think independently, defend your methodology, and ship results quickly. This is an in-person role in our Redwood City office, 3 days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Math, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong fundamentals in statistics and probability; hypothesis testing, regression, and model judgement.
• Working Python (pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy) and SQL.
• Projects showing quantitative work (research, internships, Kaggle, etc.).
• Bias toward action; momentum-focused mindset; ability to ship simple models that work.
• Curiosity about how systems work and comfort with ambiguity; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to real predictive models: forecasting, matching, and scoring systems.
• Wrangle data with SQL from Snowflake; work with imperfect data.
• Support design and analysis of A/B tests and experiments.
• Collaborate with data engineers to move models from notebook to production (MLOps).
• Apply statistics with rigor and defend methodology to diverse audiences.
