Job summary
NFI is seeking an Associate Data Engineer to help maintain, optimize, and scale our cloud data infrastructure at our Camden, NJ headquarters. You'll work with senior engineers on enterprise data platforms using Azure Synapse and Azure Pipeline, contributing to a modernization effort for a Fabric transition.
You will learn and apply best practices in data reliability, pipeline orchestration, and lakehouse design while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust data flows on-site
Qualifications
- SQL for querying and data manipulation
- Experience writing PySpark scripts
- Hands-on Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Pipeline experience
Responsibilities
- Maintain, monitor, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines in Azure Pipeline and Synapse
- Monitor data workflows to identify quality or performance issues and troubleshoot failures
- Refactor legacy SQL into modern PySpark notebook architectures for Fabric transition
- Create and maintain technical documentation on pipelines, schemas, and operations
- Collaborate with engineers, DBAs, and stakeholders to translate requirements into stable data flows
- Develop technical skills under mentorship and master NFI data assets and lakehouse patterns
