Purdue University is seeking a Custodian/Associate Custodian to maintain clean, safe facilities across campus. Duties include custodial work in classrooms, offices, and labs, with possible vehicle operation and non-traditional scheduling as posted.
The role emphasizes teamwork, safety training, and the ability to lift 25–50 lbs, with outdoor work up to 10% of shifts. Benefits are provided and growth opportunities exist within University operations.
Assist in maintaining, or may maintain, a clean, safe, and healthy environment in University facilities. Provide custodial services for university classrooms, offices, research labs, and public spaces. In addition, one or more of the following may be an essential function of this position: (a) drive a university owned vehicle during work shift, (b) work a non-traditional schedule, see posted shift schedule, (c) learn and perform specialized cleaning procedures. May provide building access by locking and unlocking areas as scheduled by the department. May develop relationships with building occupants and respond to requests.
This position represents a dual-level posting and will be filled as an Associate Custodian or Custodian. The hiring manager will determine the job level based on the skills, experience, and qualifications of the selected candidate.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm
