Job summary

MATTE Projects is seeking an Associate Creative Director, Design to lead and shape brand, campaign, experiential and digital work. You will guide motion, CGI and post‑production projects, translating concepts into actionable briefs and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

You will mentor designers, direct teams through concept to delivery, and present compelling work to clients. A senior, hands-on leader, you’ll drive craft and elevate MATTE's creative vision across channels.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience within a creative agency or design studio.
• 4+ years leading significant creative projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• A portfolio demonstrating strong design and creative direction across brand, campaign, content, experiential and/or digital work.
• Demonstrated experience directing motion design, animation, CGI, VFX and/or post‑production work.
• Strong design judgment and ability to provide clear, actionable feedback across static and moving-image work.
• Experience taking projects from concept and pitch through production and final delivery.
• Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills.
• Experience mentoring and developing creative talent.
• Curiosity around emerging creative technologies and new approaches to design and production.

Responsibilities

• Lead ideation and development of brand, campaign, experiential, content, digital and motion‑led creative.
• Develop and communicate clear creative direction across visual identity, graphic design, motion and moving image.
• Collaborate with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Designers, Copywriters and Producers to shape work.
• Lead creative work from early concept through production and final delivery.
• Translate concepts into briefs, storyboards and references for teams and partners.
• Maintain high craft across multiple concurrent projects and fast-moving workstreams.
• Deliver compelling client presentations and defend creative rationale.
• Support new business pitches and pitch reviews.
• Determine strongest creative approach, team and production method for each project.
• Contribute to MATTE's brand evolution across channels.
