Associate Corporate Counsel, AWS Sales, Marketing & Global Services

The AWS World Wide Public Sector Legal team is looking for a talented attorney to fill the position of Associate Corporate Counsel to support Amazon Web Services, a dynamic and rapidly growing business within Amazon.com. Amazon Web Services is at the forefront of the cloud computing and service industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services and more.

This candidate will have knowledge of general laws relating to government contracting and experience negotiating and drafting technology licensing agreements with government customers. The successful candidate will be a fast learner who is detail-oriented and will be able to work independently and comfortably while making decisions in ambiguous situations.

Key job responsibilities
This attorney will support our AWS public sector sales teams by negotiating, drafting and advising on a wide range of procurement, technology licensing, and compliance matters involving public sector customers worldwide, with special emphasis on public sector resellers, distributors, and systems integrators that sell to U.S. Federal, State, and local Government customers.

About the team
You will be joining a fast-paced, tightly-knit, and diverse legal team that delights in building, innovating and simplifying for its business partners and customers. As part of the team you will participate in team-wide meetings, departmental goals, and collaborative projects. In this role, you will have access and visibility to business leadership.

- 2+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience engaging with U.S. government contracting officials, system integrators, prime contractors, or resellers/distributors

- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience in web services/cloud computing, software licensing, telecommunications or equivalent
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
- Strong analytical, written, and oral communication
- Experience negotiating and drafting technology licensing agreements with public sector resellers, distributors, and systems integrators serving U.S. government agencies, state / local governments, or other public sector customers
- Strong knowledge of U.S. government procurement processes and contracting laws, rules, and regulations
