Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation, a global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions, seeks an Associate Controls Engineer for Automated Logic. You will design and program building automation systems, create site-specific configurations, and ensure adherence to client and company standards.

You will develop interfaces, test programming, and support sales while identifying project opportunities and risks.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree required; alternate: High School Diploma with 2+ years HVAC/BMS experience.
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the USA; no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

  • Design and program building automation systems and site-specific control configurations.
  • Adhere to project requirements and design standards.
  • Create design documents with technical information for project teams.
  • Document and communicate design revisions of building automation systems.
  • Develop interfaces for building automation systems and test programming before deployment.
  • Provide technical support to sales to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Identify project opportunities and risks; assist in testing building systems.

About this role:

As an Associate Controls Engineer, you will be crucial to ALC’s business through the designing of building automation systems created specifically for each individual customer. We are looking for someone who works well in a team and has excellent problem-solving, time management, and multi-tasking skills. You will work to build new skills and advance existing skills while completing smaller projects on your own.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Design and program building automation systems, site-specific configuration of control system, and control algorithms.

  • Adhere to project requirements and company and customer standards of design, programming, and implementation.

  • Create a clear design document for project teams with technical information.

  • Document and communicate the building automation system design and revisions.

  • Develop graphical and text-based interfaces for building automation systems.

  • Test programming and interfaces prior to implementation.

  • Provide technical support to sales representatives to ensure customers’ needs are met.

  • Identify and communicate project opportunities and risks.

  • Support functional testing for building systems.



Required Qualifications:


  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree



OR




  • High School Diploma / GED with 2+ years of HVAC/BMS experience

  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the USA. No visa sponsoring available.



Preferred Qualifications:


  • Basic knowledge of primary functions of building automation system software and associated engineering tools, Automated Logic suites preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of Automated Logic software, peripherals, add-ons, services, or hardware design.

  • Understanding and/or experience with IP networks

  • Understanding and/or experience with Microsoft Visio and/or similar software.

  • Ability to understand written sequences of operations, diagrammatic depictions of systems.

  • Familiar with third-party communication protocols used in building automation, such as BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, LON, N2, etc.

  • Able to translate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs.



Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $53,000.00 - $106,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. The pay range will not be below the minimum wage applicable to the jurisdiction in which the applicant is to be employed.



Other Compensation

Thisposition may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
