Job description

Overview/About Lumanity

Lumanity is dedicated to improving patient health by accelerating and optimizing access to medical advances. We partner with life sciences companies around the world to generate evidence to demonstrate the value of their product, translate the science and data into compelling product narratives, and enable commercial decisions that position these products for success in the market. We do this through strategic and complementary areas of focus: Asset Optimization and Commercialization, Value Access and Outcomes, Medical Strategy and Communications, and Real-World Evidence.

Responsibilities / Position overview

We are seeking a talented individual to join our HEOR Research team as an Associate Consultant, specialising in Value & Access. This is a perfect opportunity for a self-motivated new graduate looking to start a career and gain experience in the evolving and increasingly important health economics and patient outcomes industry, with a focus on clinical evidence review and market access.

Our Research team comprises four core specialisms:Value & Access, Evidence Review, Economic Modelling, andStatistics. We offer a structured graduate programme in which the successful candidate will spend approximately half their time focusing on clinical evidence review and market access, and half their time gaining experience across the other specialisms. Where possible, cross-specialism experience is gained through end-to-end involvement in multi-disciplinary projects, giving you exposure to how different elements of HEOR work together in practice.

The successful candidate will be enrolled in our training programme developing technical, scientific, and consulting skills in all areas. As you progress in your career you will have the opportunity to deepen your skills in value and access while also developing a secondary specialism — Evidence Review, Economic Modelling, or Statistics — based on your interests and strengths.

What You'll Do

As an Associate Consultant, you will work closely with other Lumanity team members to deliver a range of high-quality clinical evidence reviews and market access projects. You will engage directly with clients to understand their needs and ensure every deliverable demonstrates the impact of new medicines, or other health technologies, on both patients and healthcare systems.

The role is varied because every engagement is different depending on the unique scientific and access needs related to different treatments and diseases. A typical project may include:

  • Literature-based clinical research— desk-based research through to semi-systematic review
  • Creating evidence review reportsof clinical research, including elucidation of burden of illness, unmet need, and product value
  • Building value dossiers, including value propositions to support the case for new products
  • Supporting US value communication services, including AMCP dossiers, US payer dossiers, and US field-team decks and tools
  • Contributing to Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) planning and strategy, including landscaping, readiness, and response generation

In addition to clinical evidence review and market access work, other responsibilities may include:

  • Producing abstracts, posters, or manuscripts to report the findings of studies
  • Conducting systematic literature reviews
  • Supporting economic modelling to evaluate the cost of treatments to healthcare systems, such as identifying and implementing data sources for given countries
  • Assisting with statistical analyses where relevant to dossier development
Qualifications

The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic graduate with a strong motivation to drive their development and learning in a fast-paced environment.

  • A postgraduate qualification (MSc, PhD, or PharmD) in biochemistry, biomedical science, health policy, public health, or a related field
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for developing client-facing consulting skills alongside technical expertise
  • Written English to a professional scientific-writing standard, with the ability to convey complex information as a cohesive story
  • Research and analysis skills, including the ability to critically appraise scientific evidence and synthesise findings clearly
  • Excellent communication skills and an ease in liaising with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work productively independently and in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Organisational skills with close attention to detail and personal time management

This role may require occasional travel, for example to attend client meetings in person or for conference attendance.
