Job summary

Water Street Solutions in Peoria, IL, is seeking an Associate Commodity Broker to start with warm leads and develop relationships with prospective brokerage clients while receiving hands-on training in futures and options markets and client servicing. The program spans 9–18 months, with advancement to Commodity Broker/Market Advisor upon readiness.

Qualifications

• College degree not required; some college or technical education preferred.
• Relevant professional experience may substitute for formal education.
• Previous experience in sales, customer service, agriculture, financial services, brokerage, commodities, trading, or another relationship-driven business is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Contact warm leads from established call lists, including current subscribers and prospective brokerage customers.
• Build relationships with prospects and introduce the brokerage services available through our organization and Futures Commission Merchant (FCM).
• Identify prospective clients' brokerage needs and work to convert qualified prospects into active brokerage accounts.
• Conduct outbound telephone and follow-up activity to develop new brokerage business.
• Learn the fundamentals of commodity futures and options markets and how our brokerage operation serves clients.
• Develop a working understanding of brokerage procedures, trade execution, account servicing, compliance requirements, and customer communications.
• Work alongside experienced brokers to learn how client relationships are developed and managed.
• Provide responsive, professional service to prospective and existing customers.
• Maintain accurate records of prospect activity, communications, and follow-up.
• Complete required licensing and registration requirements, including the Series 3 examination and NFA registration requirements.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the knowledge, skills, judgment, sales performance, customer service, and compliance expectations for advancement.
