Job summary

Delta Dental of Washington is seeking an Associate Cloud Engineer to join our DevOps and product teams. You will deploy workloads in AWS and Azure, write infrastructure-as-code, and automate tasks to improve reliability and cost-efficiency, while growing expertise in Terraform, OpenTofu, and scripting.

You will collaborate across the SaaS platform, support CI/CD pipelines, containerize workloads, and help maintain runbooks and documentation to enable scalable, secure cloud operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP in professional, internship, or project work.
• Familiarity with Linux command line and OS tasks.
• Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform and HCL, including updating configurations.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and tools like Azure DevOps, AWS CodeDeploy, GitHub Actions.
• Experience using Git version control with branching and code reviews.
• Understanding of DNS concepts and cloud networking (VPCs, subnets, routing).
• Scripting ability in Python, Node.js, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
• Exposure to configuration management tools like Ansible is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provision and deploy workloads in AWS and Azure to support SaaS offerings.
• Write and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, HCL, and OpenTofu.
• Automate repetitive tasks with Python, Node.js, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Right-size cloud resources to balance performance and cost.
• Support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and AWS CodeDeploy.
• Containerize and runtime workloads with Docker, Kubernetes, and EKS.
• Use Git for branching, PRs, reviews, and collaboration.
• Build and maintain monitoring, logging, dashboards, and alerts.
• Document standards and runbooks to support engineering practices.
